Book Review | When The Skies Cry By Steve N. Lee

I was very kindly asked if I’d like to receive a copy of the fantastic Steve N. Lee’s new novel *When the skies cry to review and of course, I said yes! This is the second book in this dog lovers series. I reviewed the first one As The Stars Fall on my blog, in case you missed it. I fell in love with this series and was so excited to read and review the new book.

The Blurb:

Sometimes, the one you’re saving is saving you.

Harley loses everything when his master dies — his home, his best friend, his reason for living. Day after day, he trudges the streets, trembling from the biting cold, whimpering from the gnawing hunger.

Across town, Rachel has an alimony hearing looming and a make-or-break deadline hurtling toward her. Yet, they aren’t her biggest worries — her autistic son has withdrawn so far into his private world, he barely acknowledges she even exists.

Luckily, the magic of life is in the surprises no one ever sees coming…

Book Review | Spikey By Tereza Anteneová

Hedgehogs, one of Britain’s favourite mammals. And even though they are cute what do most children and even parents alike actually know about them? Well, thanks to the children’s author Tereza Anteneová we can learn all about the wonderful hedgehog, what they eat, why they are at risk and of course, what we can do to help them. Numbers are declining fast and they are now on the vulnerable list we need to help as much as we can.

Book Review | The Buried City A Tale of Two Time Zones by Judy Brulo

I’ve started to notice that as Mason gets older he’s enjoying books a lot more and will sit to read to himself for a little while. He still really enjoys discovering books with me and is happy for us to read together. Mason is definitely more open to giving anything a try and if he enjoys it then great but if not we know what to avoid. We were kindly sent a copy of Judy Brulo’s *The Buried City A Tale of Two Time Zones to review.

Book Review | Kiki’s Heart by Ana Alea Askerc

I love to read, since having the boys I don’t have much time to read. I always make sure that I spend half an hour each evening reading before bed with Arlo. You can see him starting to take an interest in the books and the stories which I love.

Most nights Mason will join us too and enjoys some of the stories, he also likes to read to his baby brother which is so cute. I was absolutely delighted when I was asked if I’d like to receive a copy of *Kiki the Rescue Dog and the Secret Plan by Ana Alea Askerc to review, it was illustrated by Veronica Burger.

Book Review | The Wing Thief By Samantha Atkins

I was kindly asked if I’d like to take part in my first ever blog tour. I was sent an e-copy of  *The Wing Thief by Samantha Atkins to read and review.

Today is my turn so I really hope you enjoy reading this post.

The Blurb:

Let me ask you a question. It’s a pretty straight forward question, but one that you shouldn’t rush to answer. Do you believe in magic?

Vista wanted two things: adventure and freedom. But nothing could prepare her for the fall that would change everything. In a single moment, Vista’s comfortable life in the Home Tree is over and she must find a way to survive in the forest alone. She soon learns that not everyone can be trusted and now she must race to save the family she left behind.

In a forest filled with magic and trickery, just how far can a flightless fairy go?

Book Review | Mermaid Eclipse by N.E. Carlisle

I come from a family of readers and I will always encourage my boys to read. I try to read lots of different books with the boys so they can discover what they enjoy and I try not to keep to typically boys books, I mean who says books are for specific genders anyway??

Mason is definitely more open to give anything a try and if he enjoys it then great but if not we know what to avoid. We were kindly sent a copy of N.E. Carlisle’s *Mermaid Eclipse to review.

Book Review | The Rug Bear By Emma Rattray

I love reading there’s no doubt about that and always encourage my boys to read, the munchkin enjoys our little alone time reading and it’s something that I’ve introduced to the baby. Now he’s becoming more engaged and wants to look at the books we’ve started to read together every other day. So I was delighted when I was asked if I’d like to have a copy of Emma Rattray’s *The Rug Bear to review.

Illustrated by Michael Terry (The Selfish Crocodile), The Rug Bear is an engaging picture book for young children (aged 0-5) that is full of fun characters to look out for on every page. A perfect book for parents and children to read together, the book features a game of hide and seek that takes a rather unexpected turn.
