Amaranthine is a new brand to me and I discovered them through the Ethical Influencers Community, they are certainly a brand that I am loving and today I want to share a review for a couple of products that I was kindly sent to try out for you.
Who is Amaranthine??
Amaranthine is the result of founder Sarah’s experience, knowledge and passion for natural skincare and beauty. She truly believes that natural skin care products are a safer and more effective alternative to commercial skin care products that contain many synthetic ingredients and cheap fillers. Everything for healthy and beautiful skin can be obtained from nature!
With Sarah’s love of all things natural, she has used her knowledge as a qualified beauty therapist and nurse, along with training in clinical aromatherapy, to create a range of 100% natural skin care products that are both luxurious and effective. They only use natural, unrefined ingredients and use many organic sources. Every ingredient is chosen for their specific properties – Amaranthine creations are concentrated blends that are naturally packed with active nutrients.
Sustainability and eco-conscious are important to the brand. They source ingredients mindfully. Their Fair Trade organic Shea Butter, for example, is bought from a supplier who owns a cooperative in Ghana. This cooperative helps local women gain employment and receive a fair wage. Many of the ingredients are Fair Trade. All of their products are Certified Palm Oil Free. They also use glass and PET plastic packaging that can be recycled or reused.
Amaranthine products are handmade in small batches, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Small batches ensure that your products are always fresh and of exceptional quality.
Detox Face Mask Review
This mask is in powder form – by formulating it as a powder the mask maintains a good shelf life without the need for preservatives. The ingredients are activated when mixed with water. Every time you mix up a mask it is fresh and active. Well, I absolutely LOVE this face mask! It’s really easy to use and to apply and really gets into your skin making it feel absolutely amazing afterwards. I’ve tried quite a few different detox face masks and they’ve tingled like mad then left your face red afterwards, this one does tingle slightly but you don’t get left with a red face at all! It leaves your skin not only feeling really clean and fresh but also smooth. I’ve been using it once a week for a couple of weeks now, I have oily combination skin and this really works for me. I just can’t get enough of it. It retails at £14.95 which is fantastic value for such a fab product. I look forward to using this every week, and it’s cleared up my skin and I hardly get any break outs anymore, especially as my hormones are slowly going back to normal after pregnancy. Not only is this a palm free certified product but it’s also suitable for vegans.
French Green Clay – Absorbs excess oil from the skin, draws out impurities and helps remove blackheads from pores. Softens the skin by gentle exfoliation. Improves circulation and brightens the skin.
Bentonite Clay – Gently cleanses and removes toxins and impurities from the skin, helping to reduce pore size. Rich in minerals that soften your skin. Reduces inflammation and redness.
Organic Aloe Vera – Aloe Vera is a potent soothing and moisturising/hydrating agent. Anti-inflammatory properties help reduce redness and calm itchy skin. It has antibacterial and antiseptic qualities and improves wound healing. Vitamins and minerals nourish the skin.
Matcha Green Tea – Detoxifies the skin and helps rejuvenate skin cells, keeping the complexion fresh and healthy. It is a potent anti-inflammatory which reduces redness in inflammatory skin conditions such as acne. It can help shrink pores and balance oil production in oily skin types.
Chamomile – Chamomile is a natural anti-bacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent.
Cornstarch – Absorbs excess oils and helps thickens the mask.
Palmarosa Essential Oil – Gives a fresh rose-like fragrance to the mask. Helps to balance oil production and kills bacteria. Moisturising/hydrating.
Mix approximately one heaped teaspoon of powder with a little water (I love using my floral waters with powdered masks) to create a smooth paste. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Gently remove after 10-12 minutes with a washcloth and warm water. It is best to not allow the mask to dry completely on the skin as it will be more difficult to remove. Follow with facial oil/moisturiser.
Each tub makes 6-7 masks.
Cocoa & Peppermint Lip Balm Review
Nourish and protect your lips with this intensively moisturising lip balm containing Raw Shea and Cocoa Butters. Peppermint Essential Oil plus the natural chocolate aroma of Cocoa Butter blend together to give the lip balm a delicious minty chocolate aroma. This product is packaged in an aluminium tin that is fully recyclable and will protect the product from UV deterioration. Store away from heat and direct sunlight to avoid the product melting. I really really like this lip balm, it’s absolutely delicious. The scent is subtle but really nice and it reminds me of having a mint hot chocolate at Christmas. It’s so nice to apply and keeps lips really soft throughout the day, I really like applying it before I go to bed as when you wake up in the morning you lips still feel soft and kissable. It’s packed full of good stuff and I’d definitely repurchase this. It retails at £4.50 and there’s loads of product in the tin. I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks too and can’t be without it. It’s great value and you know the ingredients are fresh, unfortunately as this has beeswax in it’s not suitable for vegans but is vegetarian friendly. Because there’s Sweet Almond oil in this luxurious lip balm, if you have a nut allergy just be careful.

Organic Raw Cocoa Butter – Cocoa Butter is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It forms a protective layer on the skin which locks in moisture. Raw Cocoa butter has an intense chocolate aroma.
