Review | Village Hotel Blackpool

The OH managed to book a last minute night away for the both of us in Blackpool a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely. He’d really thought about the hotel and noticed that they catered for pregnant ladies in the spa treatments they did. He was looking forward to getting himself a deep tissue massage as well. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, and even though it wasn’t in the center we really didn’t mind as we were hoping to have a chilled evening.

He chose the Village Hotel in Blackpool, it’s situated right next to the zoo and it would seem it’s the ideal hotel for couples and families. We didn’t want to be staying where all the party goers were.

We arrived just after 1pm, the hotel itself was lovely and check in was so easy as it’s all self service which is fantastic. I’ve never seen this before in a hotel and is great for keeping the waiting time down. We paid extra for the early check in and were able to go straight up to our room. He also paid extra for a club room which again, was lovely with a nice comfy bed.

The bathroom was a little on the small side and I did struggle getting through the door, the room was very clean though. We had our own little coffee machine so that we could make coffee, they didn’t have any herbal teas or anything so I didn’t get to make use of the hot drinks. The pub was lovely and we managed to have a few drinks before we headed into town.

They had an indoor and outdoor pool which we didn’t get chance to use. The only downside was that we wanted to have a couple of massages and we couldn’t get them as we didn’t book days or even a week in advance which was a bit disappointing. I understand that it can get very busy and they only have certain time slots but what about those that book a last minute spontaneous night away and want to use those facilities?? We paid £109 for the night which is a fairly reasonable price.

Breakfast was lovely and you could choose between a cooked breakfast or continental, there was a great variety of fruit and yoghurt pots, juices, cereals and pastries. We would definitely like to stay again and maybe bring the children as it’s right next to the zoo. I’d definitely say you would have to book this hotel in advance to be able to make the most of the facilities including the spa, I wouldn’t recommend booking last minute if you’d like to have any treatments in the spa. Overall a really pleasant stay and nice hotel just a shame we couldn’t get the massages we wanted while we were there.

Have you stayed here before?? What did you think??

Lots of Love
