Pregnancy | 36 Week Bumpdate

ARGH!!!! 4 weeks until my due date! I can’t believe I’m only 4 weeks away from having this little boy! We still have no names and I’ve still not packed my hospital bags. But I have now finished work and I am finally feeling like I’m getting somewhere and slowly feeling ready for this little one to make his appearance.

I’m glad you’ve all enjoyed reading my bumpdates but I can’t believe they’re almost at an end. I’ll have to do baby updates instead. I’m so glad I’ve been writing these though. Gosh, I didn’t realise I’ve been such a moany cow this pregnancy though! Haha!!

How far along?? 36 Weeks!! Eeeeeeek!!

Maternity Clothes?? I’ve given up with even bothering to look for more, I’ve got 4 weeks left so sticking with what I have. Still no coat but I’ve found a solution and been wearing one of the OH’s.

Sleep: Wow, I’ve been having some really good nights sleep. I’m waking up feeling great, I’m going to bed feeling tired. It’s been so long since I’ve actually felt like this and not feeling tired all the time. Don’t get me wrong I get exhausted but I just give myself a little 5-10 minutes sit down if I can before carrying on.

Miss Anything?? To be honest I’m over the things I miss now, just not sure how long it’ll take before I go back to having what I can’t now.

Movement: I don’t think this baby actually has a pattern because he seems to move at different times each day, his movements have been a little bit more painful, I don’t know if that’s due to him moving further down getting into position or if it’s him trying to get comfortable too. I get lots of unexpected kicks and punches which make me jump, he may occasionally stick his bum out and I felt him have the hiccups for the first time!

Gender: Most definitely a boy.

Cravings: No cravings at all!!

Labour Signs: I find I’m getting much stronger Braxton Hicks now and they are quite painful, nothing really to tell me he’s going to make an appearance though!!

Symptoms: Still drinking lots of water, eating loads of fruit and veg too now. He’s dropped a lot more and you can see how low my bump is getting. He’s still putting lots of pressure on my bladder and I do find it hard to walk still but I’m making the effort to be out and about even if it’s walking the dog!! My hips get really stiff and sore but I think that’s because he’s on them, still having back pain but apart from that I feel great and I’ve been getting lots of compliments too.

Belly Button In or Out?? It’s completely popped out now and points to my toes!! Haha!!

Mood: Feeling less stressed this week. I’m not sure if that’s due to finishing work and not having the stress of that hanging over me, still feel heavy and tired but definitely more positive about his arrival.

Best Moment This Week: Getting all of baby’s clothes and blankets washed along with the pram and car seat. My living room now looks fab and I can’t wait to get the last bits for that. Also getting to sit and do my Hypnobirthing course, I’m really getting into it and i will write a blog post about how it’s going so far in the next few weeks. I’m excited to put it into practice.

Looking Forward To: Finishing the living room completely, getting my hospital bags ready and doing the finishing touches around the house to be completely ready for this baby.

I’m still measuring big but that’s because I think he’s going to be a big long boy, I can’t wait to meet him. I’ve had my 36 week check with the midwife this week, my iron levels are higher now than they have been all pregnancy. His head is engaged and he’s assuming the position, I do have mild Carpal Tunnel in my right arm now though! I think it’s finally hitting the OH that he’ll be here in a matter of weeks as he’s starting to go into crazy get stuff done mode.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all have a fab weekend.

Lots of Love
